Whereas, the Association under the name “Open Telematics Alliance” established under this Articels is an international association for the definition, development, promotion, and maintenance of the standardized interfaces for telematics applications, which are summarized under the synonym “open telematics interface (opti)”, for the travel and transport industry. OPTA creates a platform and community for all future enhancements and maintenance to ensure interoperability by means of an open industry standard of the sets of standardized interfaces for telematics applications called open telematics interfaces (opti).

Whereas, OPTA is a non-profit association, founded in 2008 by the ICT Innovation and Evaluation Center of DB Systel GmbH (Germany) along with the market leaders FELA Management AG (Switzerland) and Saphymo S.A. (France) for telematics systems in the rail cargo industry.

Whereas, OPTA and the Members wish to set forth herein certain of the respective rights and responsibilities of OPTA and the Members.
